A continuous line of blue sapphires between two rows of diamond pavé. Sapphire is judged first on the evenness and depth of its blue — too dark and the stone closes, too light and it loses presence. This row sits in the middle range, where the colour stays open and reads clearly in daylight. At 0.45 ct it carries the highest coloured-stone weight in the range.
